# Scope your first release

Describe what you want to build the way you would to a friend. In about a minute you get a draft of the scope Choie writes after an intro call: the one user and the one workflow the first release is for, what to leave out, the decisions that move the price, and a price range in US dollars. No sign-up, and Choie does not store what you type.

The tool is interactive at https://www.choie.co/scope. To price a release without describing it, use the [MVP cost calculator](https://www.choie.co/mvp-cost-calculator.md).

## How it works

1. **Describe it.** A few sentences about the product, who it is for, and anything you already have, such as a prototype you built with AI tools.
2. **Get a draft scope.** An AI model, set up with the way Choie scopes, picks the one user and the one workflow, says what to cut, and names the risky decisions.
3. **See the price.** The model never sets a price. Its answers go through the [MVP cost calculator](https://www.choie.co/mvp-cost-calculator), so the range starts from Choie's published prices.
4. **Review it on a call.** Book 30 minutes and the draft comes with you in the booking notes. A written scope with one fixed price follows within two days.

## How Choie scopes a first release

- A first release proves one thing: one primary user and one critical workflow they must be able to finish.
- What is left out is written down, with a reason.
- Web first, unless the product needs phone features or its users expect to find it in an app store. One platform before two.
- Only the integrations the release cannot launch without.
- A prototype built with AI tools counts as decisions already made, not as production code. The draft says what it usually still needs.

## What a draft contains

- A working name and a one-sentence summary.
- The one primary user and the job they need done.
- The one critical workflow, step by step.
- What is in the first release, and what is deliberately left for later.
- The three decisions most likely to change the cost or the outcome.
- Questions worth settling on the intro call, and what the draft had to assume.
- A price range and timeline from the calculator, with the engagement to start with.

## What happens to what you type

What you type is sent to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway, routed only to providers that do not train on it, and is used to draft your scope. Choie does not store it, and does not see it unless you send it.

If you book a call from the draft, the scope goes into the booking notes so it reaches us. You can edit or delete it there before you confirm.

## Questions about the draft

### Is the draft scope Choie's quote?

No. It is a draft written by an AI model that follows the way Choie scopes, and the price range comes from Choie's calculator. On the intro call the draft becomes a written scope, and that scope states one fixed price.

### Is my idea kept private?

Choie does not store what you type. It goes to an AI model only to draft the scope, through providers that do not train on it. If you want an NDA before sharing more, Choie signs one before the call.

### I already built a prototype with AI tools. Is this for me?

Yes. Say so in your description. The draft treats the prototype as decisions already made and names what it usually still needs before real users rely on it, such as proper sign-in, data, security, and tests.

### What if the draft gets something wrong?

Change the description and run it again, or open the same answers in the MVP cost calculator and adjust them yourself. Anything still wrong is what the intro call is for.

### Does it cost anything?

No. It is free, with no sign-up and no email.
